It’s been a long long while since I’ve done a review post.
Since my prelims have ended and my time in these 2 weeks can be a little more flexible, I’ll try to blog as much as I can!(: No promise though.
I have been wanting to blog about this product since January, but due to the hectic school timetable and revision time, it haven’t really been done until now..
When I took photos of this lip balm, I’m halfway through the product, but now… It’s almost gone.. LOL!~
Mentholatum Deep Moist Lip Balm.
There is a natural and a menthol version, and the one that we’re talking about today is the natural version.
Not sure if you’re able to tell, it comes in a oval tube. Which I prefer so much more to the traditional round packaging. It can get into the corners of the lips easily without “smudging” out of the lip.
I always notice that when I use round lip balm, or lip products in general, I’ll always, without fail, get some product out of the corner of my lips when I’m not using a mirror. LOL!~
But not for this!(:
Alright.. I’m not sure if they changed the packaging or anything, because the one I have don’t seem to be the same as the ones that I saw online, but the reivews I read on it are the same.. Just for those who can’t find the blue version,

My Thoughts,
What I like about this product, Not sure you all know it, I usually have chapped lips quite easily. Most of the time, I have to use a lip scrub, daily to exfoliate the dead/dry skin before applying a lip balm to moisturize my lips.
I really like how this lip balm makes my lips so soft and smooth. I wouldn’t say your lips becomes smoother and softer immediately, but it won’t take long till you notice it.
Like mentioned above, usually I have to exfoliate my lips to get moisture on my lips, but for this lip balm, on lazy days, I can just skip the lip scrub, because it still does keep my lips nicely moisturized, soft and smooth.
I also like how the formula of this lip balm is not very thick. Comparing it with Vaseline, which moisturize my lips as well, the texture of this lip balm on your lips is definitely thinner than that. You won’t have the oily feeling when you have it on.
I usually like to “pile” my lip balm on quite a bit, applying it repeatedly, sometimes I notice my lips looks oily, like I just eat fried food, but with this, I didn’t notice it.
I don’t know what is it about this lip balm, but I notice that the product gets absorbed into your skin quite quickly too. When you right apply it, you’ll feel that there’s lip balm on your lips. To a certain extent, although it is not annoying/disturbing you, you’ll notice that wet/oily feeling of it. But after a while, I’m thinking about 30mins or so, that feeling is gone, you can feel that your lips have disappeared., but your lips are still not feeling dry and chapped.
I forgot to mention earlier, I really like that this product is fragrance free!~ You if get the menthol one, then it will have a menthol taste/ feeling to it. But this, none of that.
I get pretty sick if there is scent, which I don’t enjoy, and it lingers around for a while. So I’m very pleased that this is fragrance-free
What I don’t like about this product, actually… Nothing. I’ve been using this for almost half a year now, and I haven’t noticed anything I don’t like about this product. My experience on this product have been a really pleasant one!(:
To summarize it,
PROs.
- Moisturize lips very well
- Thin formula
- Does not leave a oily residue feeling
- Fragrance-free
- Oval shaped (aid for easy application)
Would I recommend this?
Yes I definitely will. I don’t want to exaggerate or anything, but I think this might be one of my favourite lip balms I’ve used so far. Comfort-wise, function-wise, It has really done a fantastic job!(: Maybe just not in an attractive packaging. LOL!~~
This retails for SGD$8 at our local Watsons, Guardian & Major Super/Hyper Markets!
I remember I didn’t get it at this price, I thought it was a little lower when I got it, I think I got it during a sale. LOL!~ But went down to check on the price earlier today, Yeap. It’s SGD$8.
