Redken Extreme Anti-Snap

Hi Everyone!~

Few months back, after finishing up my Kerastase Nectar Thermique Leave-in Nourishing Heat Protectant I got the Redken Extreme Anti-Snap under my friend’s recommendation. I did some research online, most I found were positive, but I didn’t manage to find a whole lot of reviews to read on, maybe I wasn’t searching right. LOL!

Redken Extreme Anti-Snap Hair Treatment

It comes with a twisted pump, you can lock the cap to prevent you from spillage.

Product Description Extreme Anti-Snap with Interlock Protein Network and Fortifying Complex delivers protein and ceramide to help fortify weakened areas, protect internal strength and reinforce surface protection and shine. Hair is healthy-looking and resilient Provides heat protection, reduces friction from brushing and helps prevent breakage and split ends.

The consistency of the product is like a shampoo. It is thick, but a little runny at the same time.
It feels more like a lotion than a cream.

There is a sweet…hmmm… strawberry tart scent(?).. That’s my closest guess. LOL!

I know I should post a before and after post. But I’ve been using this product for 4months now.. back then.. I didn’t thought of taking the photo.. So there’s only a “after” shot.

My Thoughts

For starters, I really like the design of this product, it has a steady base so I don’t have to hold onto the bottle to pump the product out. Next of cause is the pump. I really like that it comes with a pump. I didn’t really like squeeze bottles because I feel my hands are filled with product and I still have to touch all over the bottle.

Moving on to the scent and texture, I wouldn’t say I’m a great fan of the scent, but it leaves a sweet strawberry scent on my hair, I’m guessing for about half a day, and it makes me smell nice.(LOL)

The texture is very much like a shampoo and it is really easy to apply all over your hair, you don’t have to worry that there will be clumps of product and have to try and keep spreading them to the other parts of your hair. Saves me some time especially on a rushy morning!

I noticed after using this, my split ends are significantly lesser, don’t need to trim my hair (split ends) as often, and my hair looks healthier, since the ends are not fried.

After using for a period of time, 2 months, you will notice that your hair is stronger than before. It doesn’t snap that easily.

It adds a little shine to my hair and also keeps it really soft and smooth.

Because of it’s consistency, it is actually very light weight and will not weigh your hair down.
I have really thick long and heavy hair, which makes me really self-conscious about flat hair, but this didn’t make the problem worse.

Although this product prevents your hair from split ends and makes it stronger, it doesn’t really do that well with the tangle-free department. I notice my hair tangling quite abit throughout the day. And be being me, itchy fingers, I have to detangle them. And if I don’t do it slowly, the knots actually are pretty tough to get out since your hair don’t break that easily now.. LOL!~

To Summarize it,

  1. Comes in a pump bottle
  2. Pleasant Scented
  3. Significantly lesser Spilt ends
  4. Hair doesn’t break as easily
  5. Leaves hair looking healthy, soft and smooth
  6. Light weight formula

  1. Doesn’t keep hair tangle-free throughout the day

Would I recommend it?

If you’re looking for something to strengthen your hair and reduce split ends, then YES. I wouldn’t say this is the best product I’ve ever used, but it does it’s job well and it is not as pricey, that’s if you know cheap deals for it.

Unlike many anti-split ends product I’ve tried, this is probably the first product that I think is worth the purchase.

I can’t really remember how much this cost. But it is below SGD$20 from a beauty supply store (Not Hair Salons)

As usual,
Leave your thoughts and recommendation in the comments section below!!(:
I’m looking for to read them!!(:

Thanks for reading!!~

xx, meiyi
