L’oreal Paris Total Repair 5 Deep Repairing Mask

Hi Everyone!!~

It’s been a while.. I know I know.. Didn’t thought that I wouldn’t have time to blog at all!~ It’s been a really busy disappearance.. LOL!~~

Some times I feel like I’m making up excuses since I haven’t really been blogging quite regularly, yea… it isn’t really any excuses.LOL!

Alright. I have been wanting to blog about this since the week before. But I didn’t have 1-2hours to do so. Since I’m a little more free today, I thought.. Hmm… Gonna take my products with me to work and snap some photos. LOL!!~

So… Please forgive the background…(no more pretty grass..LOL!~)

L’oreal Paris Total Repair 5 Deep Repairing Mask

Sorry for the disgusting borders!~~ I have this in my shower for a long long time…

Product Description

In case it didn’t come out clear.. below is what it claims.

Total Repair 5 : 5 problems, 1 solution
Hair becomes :1. Stronger 2. Nourished 3. Shiner 4. Smoother 5. Less Split-ends

It comes in a white thick cream.. I wouldn’t say it’s of a paste form, since it’s a little more runny and thinner than a paste. So I feel that’s more of a thick cream instead.

PS. I’m down to my last 1-2 uses. Have been putting this aside so I can do a review on this.

See it’s not thick enough to be called a paste. LOL!~
I really like the scent of this product. It has a fruity citrus scent in it, but I can’t really point out what particular scent it smells like. I’m definitely sure it’s no where near the floral side.

So if you’re not a fan of floral scents, not to worry, this will not bother you at all!~

My Thoughts

I had really high expectations when I got this product, mainly because of it’s claims. I didn’t really read or seen any reviews on it, I thought.. Ohh since it’s on discount, I shall just get it and try it out!~

When I first use it at night, ok.. Not exactly use… When I scoop out the product, I was pretty use it wouldn’t live up to it’s claim.. Because of the consistency I feel that it wouldn’t hydrate, and provide the shine and smooth-ness I want for my hair. But none the less, I just use it to see how to goes, hoping that my feeling was wrong.

On my first use, I remember not feeling any difference in my hair, because there isn’t like extra shine or smoother.. It just feels like my usual hair. Then I read back again and they mention, for maximum results or something, I should use their total repair line. So I thought maybe I should take out all my L’oreal hair products and try it. So I used my L’oreal colour treated shampoo and Kerastase Nectar Thermique Leave-in Nourishing Heat Protectant to see if it was better.
Yes it did showed much better results. And when my Kerastase Nectar Thermique Leave-in Nourishing Heat Protectant is finished, I move on to using the Redken Extreme Anti-Snap. I noticed the results are the same. So I guess. You have to really use L’oreal' related products to get results.

What I like about this: I noticed that my hair became less brittle, be it with the after care or not. Which I really enjoy. I also noticed, using all the products together, since it complements each other well, it enhanced the effect and the purpose of the products making my hair at a better condition.

Like mentioned above, I really like the scent of this. Even though I don’t leave it on for like hours and hours, but at least I didn’t have to bear with a horrible scent for that few minutes. I really appreciated that.

Also.. Since we’re on the scent line, I noticed that after rinsing it, the scent, although really strong when you have it on, it disappears!~ So you don’t have to worry that you have to find a fragrance to complement the scent of the hair mask.
Not that there are many products that have that problem. LOL!~ But it’s always good to have it this way.

Another thing I like about this product is that I noticed that I have lesser split ends. I wouldn’t say much lesser, but I noticed that there isn’t that much going on there!~

What I didn’t like about the product: As we all know, in Singapore, L’oreal products aren't really that cheap to get our hands on. So if we want visible and maximum results, we can’t just depend on this product. We have to use the entire L’oreal line to achieve the results… So….

Another complain I have about this product is that, they mentioned that it is a hair mask. So I was expecting a very thick consistency, just like many others I’ve tried, but instead, the consistency reminds me of my Tresemme Conditioner but thinner. And they retails for the same price!!~so it was kind of a disappointment..

To Summarize everything,

PROs

1) With the assistance of other L’oreal products, you can observe a visible results
2) Hair is smoother, Shiner, Stronger
3) Lesser split ends
4) Pleasant fragrance
5) Scent don’t linger in the hair after rinsing

CONs

1) Have to use other L’oreal products for visible results
2) Isn’t thick enough for my liking
3) Expensive

Would I recommend this?

I would say, if you’re already using L’oreal’s products, go ahead and try this, you will like it..
But if you’re not using L’oreal’s products you won’t really noticed a huge difference in it, and for the price that you pay, it would be much better getting the Tresemme Salon Silk Conditioner to get almost the same results, and even more products.

This retails for SGD$14.90 at our local Guardian, Watsons, and major Super and Hyper market.

What are you thoughts on this Hair Mask?
