Deep Cleansing with ST. Ives Timeless Mineral Clay Firming Mask

As you all know, I wear BB cream everyday as a form of sunscreen/sunblock and BB cream is considered as a form of makeup to me as I need to use a makeup remover to remove it.
Even when I wash my face daily, I'll still feel that my face is not that clean. This is because residue builds up in our pores, making our skin feel and look greasy. Therefore sometimes we will feel that our face is still oily/dirty even after cleansing.
It is good for us to do an occasional deep cleaning to our skin to extract those dirt and residue that is left in our pores so that we won't have clogged pores and acne popping out as often.
I love applying mask on my face, because I just apply them and leave it on and let it do its job. (good way to take good care of your skin for lazy people like me!)

One product that I've been enjoying for more than a year now is ST. Ives Timeless Mineral Clay Firming Mask.

My Go To Drink - Green Tea

My friends that knows me well would know that the last thing I would order for my beverage is green tea. I would rather drink plain water to drink green tea. I knew that green tea was good for health and skin, but I never liked the taste of tea, and I never wanted to try.

Here are some benefits of green tea that I've found online.
For those who didn't know, Green tea helps with:

  • Weight Loss.
Green tea increases the metabolism. The polyphenol found in green tea works to intensify levels of fat oxidation and the rate at which your body turns food into calories.
  • Diabetes. Green tea apparently helps regulate glucose levels slowing the rise of blood sugar after eating. This can prevent high insulin spikes and resulting fat storage.
  • Heart Disease. Scientists think, green tea works on the lining of blood vessels, helping keep them stay relaxed and better able to withstand changes in blood pressure. It may also protect against the formation of clots, which are the primary cause of heart attacks.
  • Esophageal Cancer. It can reduce the risk of esophageal cancer, but it is also widely thought to kill cancer cells in general without damaging the healthy tissue around them.
  • Cholesterol. Green tea reduces bad cholesterol in the blood and improves the ratio of good cholesterol to bad cholesterol.
  • Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. It is said to delay the deterioration caused by Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. Studies carried out on mice showed that green tea protected brain cells from dying and restored damaged brain cells.
  • Tooth Decay. Studies suggests that the chemical antioxidant “catechin” in tea can destroy bacteria and viruses that cause throat infections, dental caries and other dental conditions
  • Blood Pressure. Regular consumption of green tea is thought to reduce the risk of high blood pressure.
  • Depression. Theanine is an amino acid naturally found in tea leaves. It is this substance that is thought to provide a relaxing and tranquilizing effect and be a great benefit to tea drinkers.
  • Anti-viral and Anti-bacterial. Tea catechins are strong antibacterial and antiviral agents which make them effective for treating everything from influenza to cancer. In some studies green tea has been shown to inhibit the spread of many diseases.
  • Skincare. Green tea can apparently also help with wrinkles and the signs of aging, This is because of their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities. Both animal and human studies have demonstrated that green tea applied topically can reduce sun damage.

  • Just 2 months ago, I started drinking green tea, not replacing water, but drinking a few cups a day and the rest water. I've tried a few brands of it and the only brand that is more acceptable to me is the green tea from Red Sun.

What To Do? - concealer too light/fair

There is probably a few times we bought concealers that are too fair / light for our skin tone.
Yes we're suppose to get something that is lighter, but some times it is too fair it doesn't conceal anything.

Sometime or most of the time I don't think we can return open products back to the store and thus it became a 'cold storage' item.

This post is to help you not waste these concealers!
You probably know what I'm gonna do about it since this method is often seen around.

And it is to use it to slightly highlight your face!

Yes this is the 1st post that has my face in it. It took me much courage to do this, I have been hesitating about it but I thought, one day I'll still have to have a post with my face in it...So..here we go!HEHHEH!

    5 Things I Can't Live Without! - Beauty Edition

In our daily life there bound to be some things/product that can't leave without, a must have.

There is definitely more than 5 items I need in my life, but since we're doing a beauty edition, things are much simpler. If I were to do a more general post on anything, it definitely take me some time to thing about what I really need in my life.HEHHEH!

My post is titled things and not product because some of them I don't just stick to one product, I actually use a few of them and they work well.(:

So here's the list of Things I can't live without
PS. The order may not be in right sequence because all of them are as important. HEHHEH!

Exfoliation - Cure Aqua Natural Gel

I always have the habit to exfoliate my skin, be it the face or the rest of my body. I feel that whenever I exfoliate, the products that I apply will be absorbed better into my skin and also I use to have scar marks from acne, exfoliating also helps to lighten them.(Of course you have to apply Sunblock/Sunscreen to prevent it from darkening)

I've tried scrubs, renewal gel, exfoliating pads etc. What I prefer is Lush's Mask of Magnaminty and Cure's Aqua Natural Gel. I can't really make a choice between this two.

    Biore Hydra-Clear Makeup Remover

Since I wear BB cream everyday for UV protection, it is important that I remove everything that is on my face for the whole day. BB cream and Sunblock/Sunscreen should be removed by a makeup remover to thoroughly cleanse everything off your face.

Depending on the type of makeup remover I use determines how diligent I am at removing makeup.
Therefore the lesser steps it takes to remove my makeup the more diligent I will be at removing it...yes. I'm that lazy...HAHA!

It has always been a chore for me to reach out for the cotton ball/pad to soak it into the remover. To me that is like 2 steps already. So me being lazy, I need something that I can just apply on my face with my hands and rinse it off.

I was watching the TV 2 years back where I chance upon this makeup remover - Biore Hydra-Clear Makeup Remover

My BB Cream Choice Of The Moment

BB creams to me are like tinted sunblock. I use to hate BB cream before, but now I'll apply them everyday.

Singapore is a country which has a year round of summer, and the weather will only get cooler when it is into its rainy season (which is around nov-dec period). Other than that, the weather is horribly hot! (due to the scorching sun we have here). So sunscreen protection is a must here, even though many of us tend to overlook this point.

I never liked having sunscreen/sunblock applied on my face without any makeup. Whenever I apply sunblock on my face, I'll have the tenancy to use tissue and keep patting my face. Not because it makes my face oily, but its due to the stuffy feeling sunblocks makes me feel whenever I apply them. I've try a few brands of sunblocks but they all gave me the same feeling.
The only time I feel alright with sunblock on is when i have makeup on too.It is weird but that stuffy feeling disappear whenever I have makeup over the sunblock. (maybe it's a psychological thing)

So I started using BB cream with SPF instead and yes I feel much better while applying it on my face and due to the functions of the BB cream, it helps improve my skin condition too (:

I have been rotating between 2 BB Creams Lioele Water Drop BB SPF27 PA++ and Skin79 VIP Gold Super Plus Belesh Balm SPF25 PA++.

I have to admit I use the Skin79 BB cream more often than the Lioele BB cream because I can easily get the Skin79 BB cream at any Watsons store in Singapore. Where as the Lioele one I think there is only 2 places you can get them.

However my favorite have to be the Lioele Water Drop BB SPF27 PA++

Water Droplet Moisture Supply Provides natural Skin Glow, rather than by adding pearl.
Simultaneous blocking of UVA and UVB, relieve Reddened Skin with its cool water droplet.

BB Creams - Choosing BB cream

The first makeup product I ever own is a BB cream, and to be honest, at that point of time, I hated it!

Before I go on and on about BB cream , I'll share a little background information on what is BB cream in case anyone who reads it have no idea what BB cream is.

    Blush Worth A Rave!.

Now that I'm all done ( or temporarily done) I should start posting regularly (I hope =X)

I have always been a big fan of blushes and the number one thing that always catches my attention when I'm at any cosmetic store/section is their blush counters.

If you are from Singapore, you will know that its very costly to get cosmetics from counters. A product that cost USD $5-10 will cost around SGD$20 or even more and sometimes the product is so sheer it will look like I've just applied glitters on my cheeks. So very often i'll prefer to shop at higher end brands for my blushes.

Many of us nowadays shop online to get better rates for the cosmetic we use and products that are not available in Singapore. I'm definitely one of them and that how i came across with this blush that I really like!
