Good bye BO with Dove Whitening Unscented Deodorant

Hi Everyone!~
I’m starting to blog off Windows Live Writer because there’s something wrong when I’m uploading my photos.
Since it has pretty good reviews and recommendations from a group of bloggers, I thought I would give it a try.
It is also a good platform for me to blog without internet connections. Hope this don’t fail me!~~

I do feel a little awkward talking about today’s post. But I have been loving this product for some time and wanted to give it a little more love by sharing it with you..
I’m not sure if it is the majority or minority out there that’s ‘suffering’ from BO, body odour. I know I’m one of them.

As unbelievable as it may sound, I started having BO when I was 9, still a primary school child. I didn’t know how it happened, but what my mum like to say is because I’m dirty. Because I don’t really like taking baths.

I started paying much more attention while showers/bath, but it’s still there. I’ve tried powders, body sprays, deodorant sprays and sticks. Mainly because my body gets use to it and loses the effect.

For those who don’t know what causes BO,

I’ve done some research some time back and found these.

Body odor, or B.O., bromhidrosis, osmidrosis and ozochrotia, is a perceived unpleasant smell our bodies can give off when bacteria that live on the skin break down sweat into acids - some say it is the smell of bacteria growing on the body, but it really is the result of bacteria breaking down protein into certain acids.

I’ve use countless products but by far, the one I prefer is this.

Dove Whitening Unscented Anti-Perspirant Deodorant

Yes I know. Anti-Perspirant is not good for our body. It may cause us to have breast or prostate cancer.
I have always been aware of this, I bought this by accident, not knowing it was an Anti-perspirant.

It has this ball and when you roll it on your skin, the product dispenses out from there.

I don’t know if you can see it, when you roll the product on, there will be a layer of product. But after a few minutes, the product dries and it becomes powdery.

Background

Like mentioned above, I have BO since I was 9. people could actually smell it. I started using powders until I entered secondary school which is 13(?)
It didn't really work for me, the BO will come back during mid-day. But thankfully, lessons are over by then.

I found out about aerosol sprays then and started using them. It kind of 'mutated' the BO. It doesn't smell as bad anymore, but it was still there, just not as obvious to others(?)
But as the day passes the BO comes back.

At about 16, I tried roll-ons and solid deodorant.
After using this, I notice the odour is getting less noticeable even to me.
Sometimes it comes back at the end of the day, but it is not noticeable.

Recently, I noticed that the BO is not there anymore, I don't know if it is because of this deodorant or not, but I can go days without deodorant after shower and still won't smell.

My Thoughts,
From my experience.

I’ve tried so many types of deodorant I don’t even know why brands I haven’t tried yet.
Brands that left an impression in my mind are Rexona, Dove and Adidas. Mainly because they work pretty well and I’ve repurchase their products a few times.

I’ve never bought the exact same product twice because as mentioned above, it loses it effect on me.
So I switch up the deodorant once I finish it. But this Dove one, I’ve repurchased it again and again.

What I like about this product, I like that it is small and handy. I can store it easily when I’m traveling.
You probably would know that I’m very particular with scents. This is unscented!!~ I’ve never came across anything unscented other than this.

I thought that it being unscented, my body would have got use to it much quickly than the other products.
But it keeps me “smell-free” the entire day!~
Without any scents in it, I can wear any kind of perfume I want and not worry that the scents will not complement each other! Super plus for me.
If you have excessive sweating on your underarms, this product actually helps to prevent you from sweating too much(BUT it is the cause to cancer)

I have no idea what they use in the product that makes my body not get use to it.

What I don’t like about this product, I was really hoping that it isn’t an Anti-prerspirant. So it will(may) not lead to cancer.
Sometimes the products get a little runny and it’s make the sides of the ball applicator dirty, filled with product.

Would I recommend this? Actually I’m on the fence about this. It works very well! Much better than all the other more expensive deodorant I’ve ever used. The only thing that’s bugging me is that it is an Anti-perspirant.

This retails for ~SGD$4.90 at our local Wastons, Guardian, super and hyper marts.

Has anyone tried this?what are your thoughts?
Do you have any recommendations for deodorant (not Anti-perspirant) that I can try??
Leave them in the comments section down below and I’d love to try them out!!~

Thanks for reading!~

xx, meiyi
