Lush, Mask of Magnaminty

I didn't know I had a obsession for masks until I started blogging. Now that I think of it. most/a lot of my post are on mask.

I guess it's because I believe that masks really do great things to your skin~!(:

Because I always wear BB cream on my face all the time, I really like using deep cleansing mask to prevent clogged pores that leads to massive breakouts.

And today, without any doubt, I'm here to share one of the many deep cleansing mask I have been liking.

PS. Sorry guys!~ bear with the lousy lighting and photography skills for this 2 posts!):

This product wasn't raved about or anything when I got it. It was actually introduced to by the sales lady at Lush.

I was looking for their cupcake mask, which was raved to clear up breakout.
I had a little breakout at that moment and wanted to get that to clear my breakouts.

There didn't have it there but I was introduced to this mask.
I was told that this mask will help with deep cleansing, clearing of acne, controlling sebum and to moisturize my face.

When I ask now can a mask control sebum and moisturize your face at the same time, this is what I was told,
Peppermint Oil - controls sebum and adds refreshing feeling
Evening Primrose Seed Oil - To soothe damaged and dry, calming inflammation and heal damage cause by acne
Kaolin - For deep cleansing purpose

Last but not least
Honey - To moisturize skin, protects against damage and promotes wound healing.

I was told that there's grape seed oil in the product that helps with moisturizing too, but I didn't manage to find it in any of the description on the packaging.

Product Description,
From the website,
Deep Cleansing, minty face and back pack. After an overnight flight, a marathon in a rabbit suit or a walk along the Marylebone Road during rush hour, do you feel a deep need to be scrubbed clean? Here's a cleansing mask to do exactly that; China clay and bentonite gel will pull the dirt from your pores, ground aduki beans and evening primrose seeds exfoliate surface skin cells, and peppermint oil will make you feel so fresh and minty that you'll forget you were ever grubby

On the Product,
Big green giant of a face and back pack
Deeply cleansing, toning and exfoliating pepperminty mask. Refreshes and brightens all it touches. To use: apply, allow drying, removing with water in circular moments.

This is how the mask looks like in the container.

When I first saw it, I was lost for words. Because it looks like grounded mud and grass to me.

But thank goodness there is a strong scent of peppermint, which I really like. If not I wouldn't have wanted this on my face.

It comes out really thick reminded me of the consistency of semi dried red bean paste.

Sometimes, when I find it a little hard to work with, I'll damp my hands before getting the mask out.

It makes it easier to apply onto the face.

Once you apply it, leave it to dry.
It usually takes about 15-20mins to dry completely.
PS. you want to apply the layer as even as possible, or else there will be some area of your face that is pretty hard to dry up.

But then again, I don't think it makes much of a difference, at least from what I see.

The next few steps, you might need to repeat it over again for a few times,

when it dries,

you want to run your hands under running water, or to save water, you can get a cup and fill it up with water.

Then in circular motion, work the product on to your face.

I'll keep doing until the mask totally loosen up and can be rinse away with face without much hassle.

So what I did is to wet my hands, massage my face, wet my hands again, then massage my face.
I do that over and over again for maybe a min,

Until I get this, which you can tell is easily able to get off by rinsing water.

Then I'll rinse it off with water and PAT my face dry.

I feel that rubbing my face dry after using this mask is really too harsh for my skin.
Sometimes when I forget, I'll get like a little redness around areas that are more sensitive, like on my chin and on the side of my nose.

My Thoughts,
From my experience,

What I like about this product, It leaves my face soft and clean feeling. It doesn't feel very tight or drying on my face. I also like that after using this face, I feel that my face absorbs much better when I moisturize it. I notice that it does help with calming my breakouts. And I really like that minty feeling it gives while having the mask on, leaving me a refreshing feeling, feel more energized.

What I don't like about this product, because there is like chunky seeds/piece in it, Sometimes, I feel that it is very harsh on my skin when I add a little too much force on my face. And of course, the price too.

I would recommend to use this at most 2 times a week because it does feels a little too harsh on the skin due to it's exfoliant.

This retails for SGD$42 at our local Lush stores.
And recently, Lush Singapore started online purchasing!~ I can now shop for their items without going out to get it!((:

HURRAY for encouraging my laziness!~

I have yet to try the cupcake mask. Have any of you tried it?
Share with me in the comment below!!(:

xx, meiyi
