Maybelline's Pure Concealer Mineral

Hi everyone,

I don't really have problematic skin now, so my everyday makeup routine is very much simplified.

I don't use foundation and concealer on a daily basis, so I don't have many concealer with me.

Nowadays I only put on foundation and concealer when I'm going somewhere that needs to be dressed up more. If not, I'll just apply some BB cream, to even out my skin tone, and I'm ready to go.

Nonetheless, today's post is going to be on concealer.

One of 2 that I have been liking.

I totally forgot to take a shoot of the shade that I got it in.
I have it in Shade 02.
In Singapore, there is only 2 shades, 01 & 02 and mine is the darker one.

Product Description,
WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT
  • Blends easily for complete coverage
  • Improves under-eye skin
  • Proven to reduce redness and dark spots, soothe signs of fatigue, hydrate under-eye skin
  • All-day natural coverage
  • Won’t clog pores
  • Ophthalmologist-tested
  • Contains 0% oil, 0% talc and 0% fragrance

This comes in a doe-foot application which I really like.
Some concealers come with a brush applicator, which makes it really flimsy and a little harder to dot around imperfections quickly.

This is my hands before applying anything on.

I have very visible veins on my wrist and in real life, it is even more obvious than my dark circles.
I'm not exaggerating or anything, because I try my best to get ample rest, I don't really have terrible dark circles.

I've dotted a little concealer on the veins, and blend them out.
I initially only wanted to cover up 1 of the veins and leave the rest for you to compare.
But it seems like I applied too much concealer :x

After patting all the concealer into the skin, you can see that the veins are, not all but, almost gone.

From another angle,

Under a brighter lighting, you can if you don't pay too close attention, you can hardly see the veins on my hands.

BEFORE
AFTER

My Thoughts,
From my experience

As you can tell from the photos above, this concealer does cover up blue-ish tones, which is similar to your dark circles, well!

This concealer is a little more than medium coverage and a little goes a long way.
If you apply too much, it may actually give a cakey looking. So you might want to apply it sparingly and add more if needed.

Although I didn't do a swatch for it, this concealers conceals redness well too, you just use a dot it on areas where it tends to be a little red and pat the product in, the redness will be gone.

What I like about this product, for starters, I like it's packaging. It is small and compact, which makes it easy to bring around for touch ups and "emergencies".

The consistency of this concealer is not dry at all and blends really easily into the skin.
The coverage of the concealer is also wonderful.

You don't need much product to conceal your imperfection.
Like mentioned a few sentence above, the consistency of this concealer is also great.
It is not too runny or too dry, making it easy to blend, cover, stays on your skin well.

I have been using this concealer very often when I had really bad breakouts and scarring, I didn't notice that this concealer clogged my pores or made me breakout even more

What I noticed about this concealer is that it stays on the entire day!
I don't have really oily skin, but if you do, you can use a translucent powder to set the concealer to prevent it from smudging.

I realize, setting this concealer with a compact powder might appear a little cakey. So I don't really like using a compact powder to set this.

What I don't like about this product, it would be much better if they had more shades to choose from.
Because it only comes in 2 shades in Singapore, if you are darker or too fair, this concealer might not suit you at all. Such a pity!

Would I recommend this? Yes! I totally would. Like mentioned above, not everyone will be able to try this concealer out due to the limited shades available in stores. However, if this concealer suits your skin tone, it is definitely worth the purchase.

This retails for (I'm guessing) SGD$19.90 at our local Watsons and Guardian Stores.

Has anyone tried this?
What are your thoughts??

Until next post,
Bye!~
and..

Thanks for reading!~~

xx, meiyi
